GLASS - and Hurricane Milton (No More Devil)

Never doubt the power of your words. A couple streets over from a relative's house there was (past tense) a huge demonic display for Halloween. Not cutsey and meant for children, although that is bad enough, but this one was meant to celebrate fear and the witchcraft. One day, driving past it, the Spirit of God pointed my finger at it and commanded it to come down. It was as if I heard the devil laugh. “Yeah, right.” But let me tell you, good and faithful Christians, just a couple weeks later, Hurricane Milton swept through and took with it the display and the tree limbs that supported it. There is nothing left but a string with what remains of a ghost.

The Holy Ghost (Spirit) was done with that defeated enemy on display. In a day’s time, the devil took down the devil's work. God is the Victor over all the work of the enemy, beginning and ending with deception and fear. We have nothing to be afraid of and everything to celebrate. Because as I've said many times over the years: God is still on the throne; Jesus is alive and living in me; the Holy Spirit lives in me and has come upon me, the evidence being my speaking in tongues; and the Word of God is truth. The truth outweighs the lie every time.

Have something pumpkiny this week and celebrate autumn. If you’re somewhere warm like Florida, turn the A/C down and pretend. Then sit in your favorite chair and read GLASS. Handsome man meets beautiful woman in a mysterious house where nothing is as it seems. I call it my anti-Halloween alternative.

“Cerise.” The pull of her breath flared her nostrils the tiniest bit and lifted her chest. She was beautiful, and priceless, like this house. She didn’t deserve to be trapped by all its legends. Because that is all this was, the stories of the past holding her in some vice-like grip, the grip of an old woman who wouldn’t let them go.
